Overall Rules and Guidance
Competitions and Annual Exhibition.
General Rules
The Dudley Camera Club competitions and Annual Exhibition are open to all accredited members of Dudley Camera Club.
Club Competitions
Throughout the season, there are eight Club Competitions, which are divided into:
Each competition will be held on a separate evening.
Members can enter up to 5 images in each competition.
Points are awarded for the top six in each competition, all other images entered score 1 point.
Submitting Your Entries
Dudley Camera Club has adopted Pixoroo.com as its competition portal and as such a digital image of all entries (including prints) must be submitted on or before the closing date for the competition.
Judging
Each competition will be judged by an external independent judge from the approved PAGB or MCPF judges list.
Judges may view images in advance and comment and make awards on the night.
All entries in each of the competition rounds will be eligible to receive points for each separate section.
Points will be awarded in each section as follows:
First: 7 points
Second: 6 points
Third: 5 points
Forth: 4 points
Highly Commended x2: 3 points
Commended x 2: 2 points
All other images entered: 1 point
Awards
Competition results and a tally of the points scored in each competition and is available for view on your Pixoroo account
At the end of each club season a winner of each Section will be declared.
Certificates will be presented, to the overall winners in each of the four categories, at the A.G.M.
Details of entry timings for judging will be published in the Dudley Camera Club Programme of Events, on this website and on Pixoroo
Winning or placed prints or PDIs in any competition or Exhibition may be included in the clubs website, catalogue or press release or promotion material unless specifically requested by the author not to do so.
Copyright of all images remains with the Author
Copyright
The copyright of all images including all components images making up a digitally produced or other picture must belong to the author.
The use of a photograph, sheet music or book as a prop within a photograph as a part of the overall image is permitted.
The use of “free of Copyright” and “Copyright expired” images is not permitted.
Image Exceptions
Members must not enter to any competition or the Annual Exhibition, a Print or PDI which is the same or very similar to an image previously entered as either a print or PDI competition under a different title.
Members must not enter to any competition, a Print or PDI that is the same or very similar image which has scored 2 or more points in previous rounds during the same season in the same or any other format or medium.
Members must not enter to the Annual Exhibition a Print or PDI that is the same or very similar to an image that has received an award in previous Dudley Camera Club Annual Exhibition as a print or PDI.
Images that have been entered into the general club competitions may be submitted into the Annual Exhibition even if they have received an award in those competitions.
Acceptance of an entry does not guarantee that the image will be exhibited. The committee may withhold from any competition or exhibition any print or PDI considered unsuitable for public display.
This will generally include all “Art Nude” images and may also include images of young children (see end notes).
In the event of a dispute the decision of the committee is final.
AI Content
All images or parts of images submitted for entry to Dudley Camera Club Competition or Annual Exhibition must have been ‘photographed’ by the author.
Fully generated images, generative fill or other processes that create content using software from written or oral prompts, or that incorporate material developed from the work of others is not permitted in any competition or exhibition.
In the event of a dispute the decision of the committee is final.
Content-aware fill or similar processes which utilises pixels in the original image is allowed.
